Essential Indian Cooking Workshop
An Online Indian Cooking workshop teaching some of the essential dishes that make up an Indian meal in North India.
These classes will take place online via zoom.
The course will culminate with an in person potluck party by the Gallatin river where Vandana will serve some authentic Indian dishes and you can choose which Indian dish you learned and bring that.
CLASS TIMES:
Mondays and Thursdays - 4 - 5:30 pm pm Mountain Time
Dates - 7/17, 7/20, 7/24 & 7/27 (Zoom Classes)
Learn several Indian cooking techniques to create healthy and delicious Indian dishes like dal, sabzi, kababs and curries with great depth of flavor! Understand how to use a variety of spices and include them in your own dishes. You will learn about the flavors and benefits that each spice imparts and how to cook some of your favorite Indian meals from the comfort of your own kitchen.
- You will receive the recipes and ingredient list prior to each class.
DISHES YOU WILL LEARN:
7/17 - Dal ‘Tadka’ - The quintessential Indian lentil dish. A variety of lentils tempered with spices to create a protein rich and delicious meal. You will learn two different ‘tadkas’ for your lentils. Lentils need to be soaked the night before. Served with rice, quinoa or naan. (Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten free)
7/20 - Vegetable ‘sabzi’ - Sabzi translates to vegetables. Learn to create a mixed vegetable dish combining potatoes, cauliflowers, carrots, peas and tomatoes in a spice mix. Can be served as a main, a side or made into a delicious Buddha bowl. (Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten free)
7/24 - Kababs - Chicken ‘tikka’ & Mint cilantro chutney - Mouth watering chicken kakabs marinated in a blend of spice and yogurt that can be a crowd pleasing appetizer or a protein packed meal. Mint and cilantro chutney made with fresh ginger and spices that will elevate any dish.
7/27 - Butter Chicken/ Shahi Paneer - Learn the yummiest gravy that can be the base for a decadent Butter chicken or a vegetarian Shahi Paneer. This tomatoe based creamy curry will tantalize your taste buds with its incredible nlend of tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic and spices.
Since these summer months are busy for everyone I have decided to create various flexible ways in which you can participate in one or all of these classes.
CLASS OPTIONS:
Online Course only - In case you wish to take the course ( four online classes) and are not a local of Bozeman simply join for the online course which will include recipes, guidance and recordings of the classes - $85
One Online Cooking Class - Pick one of the 4 classes and focus on learning the dish we are focusing on for that day. No recordings will be made available - $25
